After a good night's rest at my friends' house, we made the
quick trip into Boulder for a Mongolian BBQ lunch. This was an
interesting experience as they served tortillas with the meal
the the building had south western archeticture.
On the way back, my friends lead me to a 4wd trail. After
climbing to the top, we found only one open trail. It wasn't
very difficult. We went down another trail on the way back that
I doubt I could have gone up, but going down wasn't bad.
We made a brief stop back at their house to check on the dogs,
then went towards Moffat Road. This is a trail that used to be
a rail road. Off the side in one part was a abandoned car. We
threw some rocks at it for fun the continued on. From there,
a found a side trail that looked very promising; and it was a
great trail. It tested the limits of the 4Runner like no other
trail I'd taken it on before. There was loose rocks, mud, snow,
creeks, grades, trees, in short, the works. Most of the pictures
on this page are from that trail. Unfortunately, the trail did
not come back to the road as we'd hoped. We searched for some
forks and came across a pentagram rock arrangment and abandoned
shack.
We came back down and went home, tired and beat from the trail.
