Wolf's Car When he bought it |

Longevity:
|
I owned this car for 3 years 4 months and put 93,000 miles miles
on it. I bought it with 50,000 miles on it. It was my only car
for most of this time, and made several trips through northern
and southern California, Oregon, Nevada, and Washington. It handled
very well and even got me home when rear ended by a hit-and-run
driver who didn't slow down in Oregon. |

Fate:
|
While most of the time I'd owned it was reliable, towards the
end, it started having problems. First there were persistant
problems such as the power antenna and the fact that the antenna
was very week. Then there was the water leak in the back. One
day, while trying to go to the movies, the ignitor died instantly
killing the car and requiring a tow. The Check Engine (Spend
Money) light had started coming on and the clutch suddenly went
out. After spending $1,700 in one month fixing the clutch (clutch
plate, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, oil pan
gasket, rear main seal, front brake pads), the power steering
pump started to go out. This, coupled with the lingering problems
and over $1,400 in estimated in repairs to get rid of the check
engine light (EGR sylinoid stuck clogging the intake manifold
ports) and the fact that to get the rear end to align properly
would be another $200, I decided to cut my damages and trade
in the Radioflyer on the Camry. |
